Baked Brie with Brown Sugar

When hearing about brown sugar and brie cheese in the same recipe, people tend to believe that it is not even worth trying; however, in reality, it is vice versa. This meal is truly unique because it has a secret ingredient, which is rum.


  • Brie cheese
    1 small wheel
  • Brown sugar
    2 oz.
  • Rum
    1,7 fl.oz.
  • Rosemary
    2 sprigs
  • Almond nuts
    1,5 oz.
  • Hazelnuts
    1 oz.
  • Seedless raspberry jam
    2 tbsp.

  • Take the brie cheese, slightly cut it, and place it on a tray with a baking sheet. Put the brown sugar on top of the cheese, and pour 1/4 cup of rum over it.

  • On top of it, add some almonds and hazelnuts, and place the cheese in the oven for 35 minutes at 350° F.

  • When everything is done, add 3 tablespoons of raspberry jam and enjoy. Decorate it, for instance, with slices of cut fig fruit.


  • Do not add too much rum because it might add some bitterness.

  • If you are not a big fan of rum, why not substitute it with gin? They have the same alchool percentage and will not drastically change the cheese's taste.
