Method

  • Defrost the herring, cut the head, tail and fins. The remove the entrails from abdomen. Wash fish inside and take out large bones. Cut into small pieces.

  • Peel the onions, cut into half rings.

  • Wash the herbs and finely cut. Then combine the herbs, onions and herring in one bowl.

  • Take a saucepan to make marinade. Mix lemon juice (squeeze it from lemon), sugar and spices. Then put the saucepan on the stove, bring to a boil and remove. Leave to cool down.

  • At the end pour the herring with the marinade. Put the fish in the jar and close the lid. Soak for 24 hours in the fridge.
