Defrost the herring, cut the head, tail and fins. The remove the entrails from abdomen. Wash fish inside and take out large bones. Cut into small pieces.
Peel the onions, cut into half rings.
Wash the herbs and finely cut. Then combine the herbs, onions and herring in one bowl.
Take a saucepan to make marinade. Mix lemon juice (squeeze it from lemon), sugar and spices. Then put the saucepan on the stove, bring to a boil and remove. Leave to cool down.
At the end pour the herring with the marinade. Put the fish in the jar and close the lid. Soak for 24 hours in the fridge.
