English thin pancakes with bread flour

Thin pancakes made of milk are an English variation of this dish. Russians cook fluffy pancakes, in Western Europe – openwork (crêpes).
Serve pancakes with berries, fruits, jam, honey, chocolate or cottage cheese. You can also make a cake, spreading any filling on each pancake.


  • Bread flour
    7 tbsp.
  • Milk
    4 cups
  • Eggs
    6 pcs.
  • Vegetable oil
    4 tsp.
  • Sugar
    4 tsp.
  • Salt
    to taste

  • Break eggs in a bowl. Add sugar. Stir well with a fork, mixer or whisk. Pour in milk.

  • Sift the flour. Then gradually add it to the egg mixture. Add salt. Stir well to make the batter without lumps. Let it stand for about 20 minutes. Finally, pour in vegetable oil and stir well.

  • Grease the frying pan with vegetable oil. Heat it over high heat. Pour the batter with a ladle into the middle of the pan, then spread it over the pan surface (take the handle of the pan and tilt to the sides to make the circle). Bake for about 2 minutes on one side, then flip with a spatula to the other side. Now you can serve it!


  • How to grease a frying pan? To do this, take a bread crust, dip it in oil and grease the frying pan.

  • Use a light pan, with non-stick coating. Do not use aluminum type.

  • If the batter is too runny, add flour in one part of the batter. Then combine with the rest and let it stand. Do the same if the pancakes are tearing.

  • Grease each ready-made pancake with a piece of butter, so that they do not stick together.
