A delicious recipe with a crumbly top at the base and a creamy filling inside. Bacon and cheese is an amazing combination for a delicious tart that you can cook for lunch.

Ingredients

  • White flour
    10,5 oz.
  • Butter
    4,8 oz.
  • Cold water
    1,5 cups
  • Salt
    a pinch
  • Eggs
    6 pcs.
  • Smoked bacon
    9 oz.
  • Grated cheese
    6,9 oz.
  • Sour cream 20%
    9 fl.oz.
  • Freshly grated nutmeg
    0,6 tsp.
  • Spices
    a pinch

Method

  • For the dough, start mixing the flour, butter and a pinch of salt in a blender. All ingredients must be cold. Mix well and gradually add water, one spoon at a time.

  • Turn the dough over on the table and knead it until it forms a ball. Put it in the fridge for 20-30 minutes.

  • For the filling, cut the smoked bacon and fry it in the pan for 3-5 minutes. Place the fried bacon on a paper towel to absorb the oil.

  • Take out the dough and spread it until a thin round strip is formed. Put the dough on a round baking tray and remove the excess dough from the sides of the pan. Put something heavy on top to keep the shape. Put the tray in the oven for 10 minutes at 374° Fahrenheit.

  • Continue making the filling. Break the eggs into a bowl, add the sour cream and grate the nutmeg for a special taste. Season to taste and mix well with the whisk.

  • Remove the dough from the oven, remove the weight on top and put it back in the oven for 10 minutes at the same temperature.

  • After the 10 minutes, add the bacon at the base of the dough, the grated cheese, the egg mixture and more grated cheese on top.

  • Put the quiche in the oven for 40 minutes at 338° F.

Suggestion

  • Let it cool for 20 minutes then serve the final delicious tart. The tart can be combined with different side dishes for example: mashed potatoes, vegetables salad, pickles.
