Swedish Prawn toast

This is a tasty appetizer that is often made on holidays in Sweden. Try it, it's very quick and delicious!

  • Slices of toasts

  • Peeled boiled prawns
    2 cups
  • Dijon mustard
    1 tbsp.
  • Dill
    2 ounce
  • Red caviar
    4 tbsp.
  • Lemon

  • Butter
    4 tsp.

Method

  • Remove the crusts from the toast. Place toast in a frying pan and fry in vegetable oil. Fry until golden crust appears. Place the hot toast on a towel to remove any excess oil. 

  • Cut the shrimp and dill into small pieces. Mix with mustard and mayonnaise to make a sauce. Save a few shrimp and dill for garnishing.

  • Spread the mixture on the toast. Decorate Swedish toast with shrimp, caviar and dill. Add lemon slices for a nice sourness to the toast.
