Sweet potato brownies

A non-trivial recipe for chocolate brownies with the addition of sweet potatoes. Discover a new taste. I am sure you will cook this dessert again and again.


  • Sweet potatoes, halved
    1,5 cups
  • Unsalted butter, cubed
  • Dark chocolate, chopped
  • Light soft brown sugar
    1,5 tbsp.
  • Eggs, beaten
    2 pcs.
  • Vanilla extract
    to taste
  • Self-raising flour
  • Cocoa powder
    1,5 tbsp.
  • Ground ginger
    to taste
  • Dark chocolate chips

  • Cover the baking dish with baking paper and grease it with butter. Preheat the oven to 390 F.

  • Wrap the sweet potatoes in foil, put them on a baking sheet and roast for 35-45 minutes. When the potatoes are ready and cooled, remove the flesh from it and put it in a separate bowl.

  • Melt the butter and chocolate in a pan over low heat, stirring regularly.

  • Add sugar to sweet potatoes, whisk until smooth, and mix with melted chocolate and butter. Then add the beaten egg, vanilla extract, sift flour, cocoa powder and ground ginger and mix well. Add in the chocolate chips and pour a mixture into a tin.

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, until just set and still a little soft in the middle. Cool, then remove and cut into squares.
