Chocolate sponge cake without eggs

Do you like chocolate cakes? Make a sponge cake. A very easy recipe: combine all ingredients in a bowl and bake.
Pour over with any glaze. Garnish with fruits, berries, mint leaves or nuts. Serve with tea or coffee.


  • Wheat flour
    20 tbsp.
  • Cocoa powder
    8 tsp.
  • Sugar
    16 tbsp.
  • Baking soda
    1,3333333333333 tsp.
  • Vegetable oil
    8 tbsp.
  • Vinegar
    1,3333333333333 tsp.
  • Water
    12 tbsp.
  • Vanilla extract
    1,3333333333333 tsp.

  • Sift all dry ingredients in a sieve (sifter) into a bowl.

  • Mix all wet (liquid) ingredients into a bowl, mix well. Then combine these 2 bowls.

  • Pour the batter into the baking pan. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes at 356 F.


  • Do not open the oven at least 30 minutes. Pierce the cake with a toothpick in the center, if the toothpick is clean, the cake is done.

  • How to keep sponge cake from sinking? Firstly, gently transfer the baking dish to the oven, without any shaking. Secondly, do not open the oven for about 30 minutes.
