These cat butter cookies are the best gift for a cat lover who also loves cookies. So I would say that this is about 85% of the world's population. It is gluten-free cookie recipe starts with a basic short crust recipe cut into three different pieces and then colored with cocoa powder. This will give you three different shades of dough and will be able to make “spotted” cat biscuits.

Method

  • In a large bowl, combine all dry ingredients: flour, starch, sugar, salt.

  • Peel the vanilla seeds and add them to a bowl. Mix everything well, then add the egg. You can use a mixer or do it manually. 

  • Cut the pre-melted butter into small cubes, then add to the dough. 

  • Knead the dough until smooth, then divide it in half. Take one piece and divide it in two again. 

  • Take one smaller portion and add half of the cocoa powder. Stir the dough until smooth again. Take the second smaller portion, add the rest of the cocoa powder and mix again. This way you will have 3 tests in 3 different shades. Cover them individually with cling film. Let them rest for 1 hour in the refrigerator.

  • Remove the dough from the refrigerator and let it warm slightly at room temperature for 10 minutes. Roll out the white slabs very thinly, less than about 1 cm. 

  • With two brown dough, make (many tiny balls) and then spread them over the white layer. The smaller the pieces, the prettier the final result. Cover with parchment paper, then roll out the brown pieces so that they all become one unique layer. 

  • When you have a rolled out speckled plate, roll it up. Carve out the shapes of the cats with a knife. Place them on parchment paper and bake at 170-340 °F for 12 minutes.

  • How to remove seeds from vanilla pods? 
    To remove the seeds, you need to cut the pod openly. You need to start from the end closest to you, you need to run the knife down the pod with a knife in order to pull out the smallest seeds from the shell.

  • How to properly melt butter in a water bath? 
    You will need two dishes of different sizes. Pour water into a large container and put it on fire. Place a smaller container on top so that it is about half submerged in water. Put chopped butter in it. Under the influence of boiling water, it begins to melt. Stir it lightly to speed up the process. Once the butter pieces are completely dissolved, remove from heat.
