Method

  • First you need to make a base for the bars. Combine all dry ingredients in a large container. Add the syrup and coconut oil and, rubbing with your hands, bring the mixture to a coarse, sandy consistency. Reserve 1⁄2 cup of the mixture for later.

  • Add the flax egg and stir to make a sticky dough.

  • Prepare an 8x8 baking dish and cover it with baking paper. Spread the dough out on a baking dish.

  • Now let's move on to the topping. Stir all the apple ingredients until smooth. Then spread the consistency evenly over the base. Chop up the remaining crust.

  • Preheat oven to 350 F.

  • Bake the dish for 40-45 minutes, until the apples are golden brown and soft. It can be covered with foil if the top of the dish turns very brown.

  • So a great snack is ready. Let the dessert cool for 30 minutes, then transfer to the refrigerator and cool completely. Cut into squares and serve. The finished bars can be drizzled with liquid honey or caramel sauce for added sweetness.

Bon Appetit!
