A large and hearty loaf of meat, enough to feed everyone at the table. It is very easy to cook.

  • Egg, lightly beaten

  • Mushrooms, chopped
    pound
  • Old-fashioned oats
    cup
  • Chopped red onion
    cup
  • Ground flaxseed
    cup
  • Pepper
    tsp.
  • Italian turkey sausage links, casings removed, crumbled
    1 package
  • Lean ground beef (90% lean)
    1 pound
  • Marinara or spaghetti sauce
    1 cup

Method

  • Mix all the ingredients together except marinara. Season well. Stir until smooth. Shape a loaf.

  • Heat oven to 350 F. Transfer the loaf to an oiled baking dish. Bake for 50 minutes, then remove, drain excess water, pour marinade over meat and bake for another 10-15 minutes.
