Method

  • An important ingredient in this recipe is the baby arugula; therefore, it is very important to wash the arugula leaves. Afterward, place them in a separate bowl.

  • Cut the hamburger buns in half and lightly toast them on an already-preheated grill. Toast for around 2 minutes, place 1 slice of cheddar cheese and let it slightly melt on the bottom buns. After 1 minute, remove them from the grill and set aside for an extra 2 minutes.

  • To put the cheeseburger together, place the ham slices on top of the grilled buns and cheese. Then, add a teaspoon of ketchup and a small amount of mustard. Next, top it with some baby arugula and the upper half of the hamburger bun. Serve the cheeseburger with a side dish such as French fries or chips and enjoy.

Tips

  • After you toast the hamburger buns together with the cheddar cheese, let them cool down for a little while before adding the ham and arugula. This will ensure that the ham is warm and the baby arugula leaves are fresh.

  • Instead of cheddar cheese, you can use a Swiss one. By doing so, the cheeseburger will have a creamier texture.
