Method

  • Take the tomatoes and onions and wash them well. Peel the onions' skin and cut them into thin slices. Next, slice the tomatoes.

  • The next step is to sauté the onion slices. A medium-sized skillet is required. Add 1 teaspoon of butter to it and let the butter melt. When it is melted, add the onion slices and cook for 10–15 minutes. Use a lid to cover the skillet. When done, uncover the onions and stir for an additional 3 minutes. The onions should reach a golden color.

  • Place the ground meat in a large bowl and season it with salt and black pepper to taste. Mix the meat so the seasoning combines well. Then, start forming medium-sized patties. Meanwhile, preheat the grill and spray it with olive oil or any other oil. Place the patties on the grill and cook for around 5 minutes on each side. Take a close look at their color while cooking; if they reach a dark brown color, it is time to remove them from the heat.

  • Now is the time to build the cheeseburger. For that, spread a generous amount of mayonnaise on the top and bottom parts of the bun. First, lay out the lettuce leaves and tomato slices. Afterward, place the patty with one slice of cheese and another patty with cheese. Top everything with sauteed onions and the other half of the bun.

Tips

  • Try cooking the tomato slices before serving them with the cheeseburger. To do that, heat a grill, brush the tomatoes with olive oil, sprinkle on the spices, and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side. The cheeseburger will get more flavor and juice.

Bon Appetit!
