  • Canned red beans
    10 oz.
  • Hamburger buns
    4 pcs.
  • Mozzarella
    3,5 oz.
  • Tomatoes
    2 pcs.
  • Basil leaves
    3 oz.
  • Red Chilli powder
    1 tsp.
  • Mayonnaise
    2 tbsp.
  • Olive oil
    2 tbsp.

Method

  • In a large bowl, pour the canned beans, and with the help of a spoon or any other tool, smash the beans till they form a paste. Sprinkle the pasta with chilli powder and mix well until everything is well combined. If it is more comfortable for you, use a blender to smash the beans; it will form a more even paste.

  • When done, start forming medium-sized patties and place them aside. Afterward, preheat a skillet and pour 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil into it. Place the patties on the skillet and cook for 10–12 minutes, or until the patties form a brownish crust. 

  • Wash the tomatoes under lukewarm water and cut them into thin slices. Furthermore, take the mozzarella and also slice it into even pieces. 

  • When assembling the cheeseburger, place first the mozzarella slices and then the hot red bean patty. By doing so, the mozzarella will melt and develop a more distinct flavor. After that, place the washed basil leaves and top with tomato slices and the other half of the hamburger buns. Serve and enjoy with beverages of your choice.

Tips

  • Instead of a red bean patty, you can use any patty of your choice. For example, try making quinoa patties that are pretty much the same. Just before blending the grains in a blender, boil them for 10–15 minutes.
