The moon dumplings are one of the most popular Chinese snacks. It is made of flour, eggs and water. We recommend making minced meat at home, the taste is better. Season with different spices to your taste. Moon dumplings can be served as a separate dish with soy sauce and chopped herbs.

Method

  • Sift the flour. Then combine with eggs and salt. Mix well. Gradually add a little water, to make a smooth and elastic dough. Let it rest for half an hour.

  • Wash the cabbage under running, then finely cut.

  • Peel the onion, wash and finely cut it.

  • Make the filling. Combine ground pork, chopped cabbage and onion, spices. Mix well.

  • Roll out the dough into a thin layer, then cut into 2.5 inches circles. Place 1 tsp. of the filling to each circle. Make a moon shape dumplings and pinch the edges of them. Do the same actions with others circles.

  • Fill a pot with water, add salt and bring to a boil. Then add dumplings, cook for about 7 minutes until they are done.

Tips

  • To make water boil faster, add a pinch of salt.
