Moon dumplings are Chinese dish made of dough and meat filling. We recommend a healthy way of cooking, use a steamer. You will get very tasty and hearty meal for whole family. Serve with chopped herbs or green onions.


  • Buckwheat flour
    1,5 cups
  • Ground pork
    1,1 pounds
  • Water
    0,8 cup
  • Onion
    3 cup
  • Starch
    1,5 tbsp.
  • Dill
    1 bunch
  • Ginger powder
    1,5 tbsp.
  • Salt
    to taste
  • Ground black pepper
    to taste

  • Peel the onions, finely cut them.

  • Wash the dill under running water, finely cut.

  • Combine the following ingredients in a bowl: ground pork, ginger powder, chopped onions and dill. Mix well, season with spices.

  • Sift the flour to a bowl. Add the starch and salt. Mix well. Then gradually pour cold water. Knead the dough until it gets smooth and elastic. Make ball, cover with a towel and wait for 20 minutes.

  • Roll out the dough into a thin layer, then cut into 2.5 inches circles. Place 1 tsp. of the filling to each circle. Make a moon shape dumplings and pinch the edges of them. Do the same actions with others circles.

  • Fill a steamer with water. Place the dumplings, cover and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes.


  • To make water boil faster, add a pinch of salt.
