Method

  • If the crawfish you are going to cook are medium-sized and close in size to the shrimps, then you can safely roast them in one piece, in the case of large crawfish, you can use scissors to separate the claws, carcass and tails. Rinse the crawfish well so that there is no debris. For frying, you will need a deep pan in which to mix the sauces: soy, chilli and tabasco. Also add vegetable oil and garlic. Heat everything over medium heat. Then put the washed crawfish in the pan, fry in a mixture of sauces for about 10-15 minutes on both sides. Ready crawfish will acquire a characteristic red color. Stir the crawfish constantly, so they cook evenly and do not stick.

  • Boil the pasta. To do this, you will need a deep-bottomed pan so as not to break the spaghetti. Pour water into the pan, salt it and bring to a boil, covering the pan with a lid. When the water is boiling, put in the spaghetti, if it doesn't fit completely into the pot, wait a minute or two, until the part of the spaghetti, that is in the water is soaked, then you can submerge all the spaghetti. To make spaghetti even tastier, add the sauce in which you stewed the crawfish to the water in which the pasta is boiled and cook the pasta over a low heat for 10 minutes. Do not cover the pot with a lid. After 10 minutes, check the spaghetti for doneness and if they are al dente, cover the pan with a lid and let stand for 5-7 minutes. Spaghetti is ready. To prevent the spaghetti from sticking together, drain the water from the pasta using a colander and add a pat of butter.

  • Take out the crawfish and get the meat out of them. If you wish, you can chop it with a knife, leave it as it was cleaned or not clean the crawfish at all and serve it on top of the spaghetti. Also chop some cherry tomatoes, red pepper, if you prefer spicy food, lemon slice, and optionally some parsley for decoration. Serve the dish. Enjoy your meal!

Tips

  • Crawfish has a dark green shell, closer to brown. It must be without damage.

  • How to determine whether the cooked crawfish is ready or not. Many consider the appearance of a bright red color to be an indicator of readiness, however, you should not hurry and should wait for the advised period. The process of cooking crawfish takes from 25 to 45 minutes. Due to its dense shell, crawfish meat is almost tasteless, so to get the desired result, you should not save on spices and salt. When dill is added, the meat acquires an exquisite taste.

Bon Appetit!
