The first step is to wash the shrimp, continuing with peeling and deveining it. Pour the olive oil into a medium-heated skillet. When the skillet is hot, place the shrimp into the skillet and fry for 1-2 minutes. This time stirring is not needed.
Add a few pinches of salt to the shrimp, or however much you prefer, and continue to cook while stirring for 1-2 minutes. When the shrimp turns pink, you'll know it's ready.
Now, mince the garlic and mix it with the shrimp. Also, add a little more flavor by seasoning it with red pepper flakes. Cook for 1 more minute, and in the meanwhile stir.
Cut the 2 cubes of butter in halves. You should have 4 little cubes of butter. Add 1 cube to the shrimps, and 1/2 of the parsley. Don't forget to wash and chop it. Pour the lemon juice and the most interesting - caper brine. Cook for 1 minute, until the cube of butter has entirely melted.
Adjust the skillet to low heat and stir in those 3 cubes of butter. They should entirely melt, and the sauce should be thick - that's about 2-3 minutes. Then, stir in the tablespoon of water and cook for 1 more minute. Yuhuu, your meal is ready for serving. Don't forget to use the rest of the parsley for the decoration part.
Use a paper towel to dry the shrimp after washing it. Otherwise, the remaining water will affect their overall taste.
Enhance with Butter: For an extra touch of richness and flavor, add a small amount of butter to the pan when sautéing the shrimp. The butter will complement the garlic and herbs, creating a luscious sauce that coats the shrimp beautifully.
Properly Season the Shrimp: To infuse the shrimp with a burst of flavor, marinate them in a mixture of olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, and your favorite herbs (such as parsley or cilantro) for at least 15-30 minutes before cooking. This step will enhance the taste and tenderness of the shrimp.
Both fresh and frozen shrimps are suitable for this recipe, just make sure they haven't gone off.
Serving and Presentation: Garlic shrimp pairs wonderfully with rice, pasta, or crusty bread. Garnish the dish with fresh herbs and lemon wedges to add a pop of color and freshness. Serve the shrimp immediately after cooking to enjoy them at their best.
Store cooked garlic shrimp in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness and prevent odor transfer.
For longer-term storage, freeze garlic shrimp in a freezer-safe bag or container, ensuring they are well-sealed to avoid freezer burn.
Label the containers with the date to keep track of their freshness, and consume within 3-4 days when refrigerated or within 2-3 months when frozen.
Bon Appetit!
