Method

  • To begin with, heat the oven to 350°F. The pitted dates should be carefully washed and dried on a paper towel to remove the impurities. Then, they should be placed on a cutting board and chopped into small pieces. After that, put them in a mixing dish.

  • Now include the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup in the mixing bowl along with the chopped dates. To taste, add salt and black pepper to the meat. Begin blending the ingredients, continuing until they are thoroughly incorporated. The mixture of meat and dates should then be transferred to a loaf pan.

  • Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven, and bake for about 50 minutes, or until the top is beginning to turn brown. If you have a meat thermometer, use it to check the temperature of the meat before taking the meatloaf out of the oven. Typically, meat reaches 160°F when it is finished. Slice the meatloaf once it has been finely cooked and cooled for an additional five minutes. Serve alongside a side dish like mashed potatoes or an avocado salad. Enjoy!

Tips

  • Don't worry if your local grocer does not sell pitted dates; you can easily do it yourself. To do that, cut the dates in half, removing the seed while being careful not to damage the date's flesh.

Bon Appetit!
