Indian rice pudding

Pudding is not national dish of England, but it is still popular all over the world. It is believed that, this dish was made in India because of rice grain (its motherland). We recommend to cook a sweet rice pudding with milk, sugar and cardamom. Garnish with nuts to your taste.

  • Cook rice porridge. Soak the rice in water for 20 minutes, rinse several times. Fill a pot/saucepan with milk (only half). Bring to a boil, then add rice. Cook over low heat for about 20 minutes.

  • Mix pudding well and add the remaining milk. Also add sugar, cardamom. Continue cooking until pudding is thickened. But stir constantly to prevent burning. Finally, remove the cardamom and add nuts to your taste.


  • To cook white rice, you need 2 cups of water for 1 cup of grain.

  • To prevent milk from burning, pour 1 tbsp. of water to the saucepan and then pour milk in.
