Bread and dates are always a great combination. Rye bread is very tasty thanks to dates. Try making it!

  • Warm water
    11,8 fl oz
  • Clear honey
    1 tbsp.
  • Dried active yeast
    2 tsp.
  • Dark rye flour
    cup
  • Strong bread flour
    2 cups
  • Wholemeal flour
    cups
  • Ready-to-eat dates, chopped
    1 cups

Method

  • Dissolve the water together with the honey, then add the yeast, stir it and leave it in a warm place for 10-15 minutes.

  • Mix the dry ingredients and add the yeast mixture, mix until you have a dough, then dust your work surface with flour and start kneading the dough on it for 10 minutes. Then transfer it back to the bowl, cover with a towel and leave in a warm place for an hour. The dough should increase twofold.

  • When the dough has increased in size, knead it again to let the air out. Divide into the desired number of portions, add dates, knead them into the dough. Place a raw dough in a baking dish lined with baking paper. Make small strips on top of the dough with a knife. Cover with a towel and leave for another hour.

  • Bake the bread at 420 F for half an hour until golden crust appears. Let the bread cool before serving.
