American Coleslaw salad

A very easy and fast salad made of spring cabbage, carrots and mayonnaise dressing. To get a juicy Coleslaw, let the dish sit without dressing for a few hours or overnight. Then pour the dressing over it. Coleslaw can be served with grilled meat, pulled pork hamburger, any kind of tacos, fish sandwich, hot dog and etc.


  • Shredded white cabbage
  • Grated carrots
  • Dijon mustard
    to taste
  • Sour cream (15%)
    1 tsp.
  • Mayonnaise
    to taste
  • Lemon juice
    to taste
  • Sugar
    to taste
  • Salt
    to taste

  • Wash the cabbage under running water and finely shred it.

  • Peel the carrot, wash and grate it.

  • Salad dressing. Combine the following ingredients: mayo, sour cream, mustard, sugar, lemon juice (how to squeeze see below) and salt. Mix well and serve.


  • How to get lemon/lime juice. Take out the lemon from the fridge, leave it heat up for a few minutes. Then roll the fruit on your cooking board with your hands. This action helps to get more juice. Then slice the lemon crosswise using a sharp knife. Squeeze the lemon with the cutting side up, so the seeds don’t fall into the bowl.
