Rice is rarely used as an ingredient in a salad; however, why not be original and prepare a mouthwatering dish? The recipe is fairly quick and easily adaptable to suit your own preferences. Even those who dislike rice will enjoy this meal; it is guaranteed!

Method

  • In a large pan, pour 2 cups of water and salt it with 1 teaspoon. Add the rice, place the pan on the stove, and cook for around 20 minutes. Do not prepare it on a high heat; rather, use a medium one. After the rice is cooked, set it aside to cool for another 10 minutes.

  • Now, it is time to boil the eggs. Place all six in a medium saucepan. Put the pan on the stove and bring the eggs to a boil. Let them cook for about 10 minutes. Remove them from the heat and let them cool. After that, peel off their skin and chop into thin slices.

  • Chop the scallions, celery and the pickles. When cutting a scallion, chop the green part rather than the onion itself. 

  • In a large mixing bowl, add the following ingredients: eggs, celery, scallions, cooked rice, and canned tuna. In a different bowl, mix the mayonnaise with lemon juice, mustard, 1 teaspoon salt, and a pinch of black pepper. Add the seasoning to the large dish and mix all the ingredients together. Enjoy this delicious recipe and try combining it with different beverages, such as juices, wines, or sodas.

Tips

  • Do you know how to make home-made mayonnaise? It is actually super easy! Take a medium bowl, add one egg, and with the help of a food processor, mix it for around 30 seconds. Afterwards, add 1/2 teaspoon of mustard, 1 teaspoon of vinegar, and a pinch of salt, and continue stirring for 20 seconds. While mixing, slowly add a few drops of oil. Mix for another 20 seconds, and you get a tasty and healthy home-made mayonnaise.

  • If you are not a fan of tuna, substitute it with chicken breast. Some might not like the combination of fish and rice, so this alternative might be a nice idea.
