Potato salad

The easiest side dish for any kind of meal. It is made of potatoes, herbs and mayo dressing. Season with your favorite spices. If you like spice food, add chili peppers. Potato salad can be served with: steak, ribs, hamburgers, grilled fish, roasted chicken, tiger shrimps.


  • Potatoes
    2 lb
  • Shallots
    5 pcs.
  • Cornichons
    3,3333333333333 tbsp.
  • Capers
    to taste
  • Mayo
    5 tbsp.
  • Olive-oil
    5 tbsp.
  • White wine vinegar
    5 tsp.
  • Herbs
    to taste

  • Wash the potatoes under running water, then peel. Transfer the potatoes to the pot, fill with water and add salt. Cook for about 20 minutes until tender. Finally, drain the water and let the vegetables cool.

  • Wash the shallots and herbs under running water, finely chop them. 

  • Finely chop the cornichons.

  • Combine the following ingredients in a bowl: mayo, olive oil, vinegar.

  • Cut the cooked potatoes into small pieces. Combine with other chopped ingredients in a large bowl. Add the mayo mixture and season with spices to your taste. Stir well!


  • To cool a hot potato, transfer it to the large bowl and pour in ice. This method preserves the color and taste of potatoes.
