Peel the white potatoes. Cut into cubes and wash with cold water.
Place the potatoes in cold water over high heat. Add a teaspoon of salt and put the lid on. When the water starts to boil, remove the foam, then let it boil for another 20 minutes on medium heat so that the potatoes are well cooked.
Melt the butter together with the milk in a saucepan and leave it on medium heat until it melts completely.
All you have left is to mash the potatoes. You can do this step with a mixer or a hand blender. Gradually pour in the milk and butter mixture. Add the cream cheese and incorporate it very well. Season to taste.
Serve with meat, fish, vegetables or fresh salad as you wish.
