Hungarian-Style Mashed Potatoes

  • Black pepper and salt

  • Butter
    2 cubes
  • Cooking cream
    3,5 oz.
  • Chopped onion
    2 pcs.
  • Paprika
    2 tbsp.
  • Garlic
    2 cloves
  • Egg
    2 pcs.

Method

  • Clean the potatoes and boil them for about 25-30 minutes until they are soft. Keep the lid covered for the water to boil faster.

  • In a pan, add a cube of butter and let it melt at medium heat. Add the finely diced onion and mix. Over low heat, leave the onion to fry under the lid for 12 minutes. When it's ready, add the crushed garlic cloves. Season it with paprika, salt and pepper to taste. Leave for a minute and turn off the heat.

  • Add the sour cream and the egg on top of the potatoes. Mash them with a fork. Add the other cube of butter and the rest of the cream and continue to mash the potatoes. Season with salt and pepper. Add the onion to the mashed potatoes and mix well.

Suggestion

  • Serve warm with a pork or chicken steak, as a side dish pickles go perfectly.
