Coconut rice is a fragrant and flavorful dish made from rice cooked in coconut milk. Coconut rice is easy to make and is a great way to add a tropical twist to your meal. Coconut rice is also a great option for those who are lactose intolerant or following a vegan diet, as it provides a delicious alternative to dairy-based dishes.


  • Jasmine rice
    2 cups
  • Coconut milk
    13 oz.
  • Water
    1 cup.
  • Sugar
    1 tbsp.
  • Salt
    1 tbsp.
  • Mint
    3 leaves
  • Coconut flakes
    1 tbsp.

  • Place all the following ingredients in a saucepan: coconut milk, rice, 1 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Turn the oven to high heat. Cover the saucepan with a lid.
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low once the mixture reaches a boil and let it simmer gently. Allow it to continue simmering for 15 minutes until all the liquid has been fully absorbed.


  • Remove from the heat and set aside for 10 minutes to cool. Fluff with a fork. Sprinkle the dish with coconut flakes, and add a little slice of butter.


  • Before cooking, rinse the rice several times to remove excess starch and improve the texture.

  • Add aromatic spices like cardamom, cinnamon, or pandan leaves to enhance the flavor.
