  • Wash the rice using a fine mesh strainer, and then place it in a medium-sized saucepan along with 2 cups of water and 1 teaspoon of salt. 

  • Bring the dish to a boil over high heat. Then reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan with a lid. Allow it to cook for 18-20 minutes, until all the water has been absorbed.

  • In a separate pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Then, add the raisins and cook them until they become plump, which should take about 3 minutes. Next, stir in the butter, cinnamon, and sugar and continue cooking until the butter has melted and the sugar has fully dissolved.

  • Take the pan off the heat and combine the sugar mixture with the already cooked rice. Mix until the rice is evenly coated. Serve the rice while it's hot and enjoy! Sprinkle the dish with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. 


  • As an option, you can add chopped nuts like almonds or pecans for a crunchy texture. Additionally, if you want a healthier alternative, you can use brown rice instead of white rice.
