Heat the oil in a medium pan over medium heat.
Add onion, chipotle peppers in sauce and garlic. Cook about 5 minutes.
Add tomato sauce, chicken broth, salt, paprika, oregano, chili powder and lime juice, stirring to combine. Simmer on low for 5 minutes.
Using blender, blend until smooth. Set aside until ready to use.
