Peel onions, rinse and finely cut.
Peel potatoes, rinse and cut into cubes.
Rinse red lentils for a few times. Then fill a pot with water and add the following ingredients: lentils, onion, peeled garlic, potatoes. Bring to a boil, reduce to low and cook for about 20 minutes until all ingredients are done.
Heat the frying pan, pour in vegetable oil. Add all spices, stir well for a minute. Then add this mixture to the pot.
Rinse lemon, squeeze it.
Rinse cilantro leaves, finely cut. Pour the lemon juice to the soup. Let it stand about 5 minutes. Sprinkle with herbs, serve.
How to get lemon juice? Take out the lemon from the fridge, leave it heat up for a few minutes. Then roll the fruit on your cooking board with your hands. This action helps to get more juice. Then slice the lemon crosswise using a sharp knife. Squeeze the lemon with the cutting side up, so the seeds don’t fall into the bowl.
