To cook a delicious homemade chicken broth, choose quality foods. Pay attention to the expiration date. In this recipe, we use all parts of the chicken, but you can get by with some of them. Buy the chicken breast, shoulder blades, drumsticks or others. Add more spices for aroma, serve for a lunch or dinner.

Method

  • Rinse chicken, cut it in half. Cut the legs, remove the giblets.

  • Pour water in a pot. Bring to a boil. Add chicken to boiling water along with the parsley root. If foam appears, remove it with a slotted spoon. Cook over low heat until done. The exact cooking time depends on the age of the poultry.

  • Peel carrots and onions, cut finely vegetables and add to the pot at the end, not overcook them. Season with any spices to your taste.

  • Pierce meat with a fork to check if it is done. Strain the broth through a sieve before serving. Serve with croutons or greens.

Tips

  • If you want to avoid fat in the chicken broth, the first water must be removed.

  • Add salt at the end of cooking.
