A creamy, easy-to-make and absolutely delicious chowder with seafood that you can make with no effort in just 30 minutes! It's such a comforting meal, especially in the cold seasons, that you or your loved ones could hardly resist a bowl of this dish. It really couldn't be any easier to prepare, so let us show you how.


  • Small-medium sized shrimp

  • Clams, undrained
    2 cans
  • Whitefish

  • Half & half
    1 cup
  • Cooked bacon crumbles
    2 cup
  • Chopped onion
    2 cups
  • Celery
    1 stalk
  • All-purpose flour
    1 cup
  • Chicken, vegetable, seafood or fish broth
    4 cups
  • Russet potatoes
    1 lb
  • Bay scallops
    2 lb
  • Coarse salt
    2 tsp.
  • White pepper
    1 tsp.
  • Butter
    2 tbsp.

  • Melt butter in a stockpot placed over medium heat and saute diced onions and celery until they soften. Add flour and keep whisking it in to smooth out the consistency, letting it fry for another minute so that the raw flour taste will cook out.

  • Start pouring in half a cup of chicken, vegetable, fish or seafood stock along with the cut potatoes and keep stirring continuously. When it reaches a boil, slow down the heat and simmer the soup for ten minutes. Then, mix in your seafood of choice (shrimp, mussels, clams, scallops) with some heavy cream or half&half, and let simmer for an additional 10 minutes. Season with salt, pepper and preferred seafood seasoning, adjusting to your taste.

  • When serving, top with crumbs of bacon or pieces of shrimp or fish, and enjoy!



  • The best way to enjoy a delicious, hot bowl of seafood chowder is with warm flatbread topped with generous amounts of garlic and herb butter, like parsley.
