Method

  • Mix together the ground turkey meat with salt and pepper in a bowl. Combine everything thoroughly until everything is well combined. Start by forming medium-sized meatballs and placing them aside on a baking sheet so they do not deform.

  • In a large pot, pour 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Let it heat up, and then transfer the chopped onion and the minced garlic cloves to the pot. Stir the ingredients until the onion reaches a golden color. Pour turkey broth on top and also add the meatballs.

  • When the broth starts boiling, add the canned crushed tomatoes and the red lentils. Note that before adding the lentils, wash them thoroughly and rinse off the excess water. Afterward, put the turkey meatballs in the soup and cook everything for 20–25 minutes until the meat is done.

  • When the soup is done, taste it and add the desired seasonings, for example, 1 teaspoon of salt and a pinch of black pepper. Serve the soup in separate dishes and enjoy this delectable soup dish.

Tips

  • You can decorate the soup with parsley leaves or even mint leaves.

  • The soup can be served with a teaspoon of sour cream; this will boost the taste of the dish, and it goes well with the taste of turkey meatballs.

Bon Appetit!
